Accounts¶
An account holds one tracker: its students, decisions and log. Your login can belong to several accounts; you see one at a time.
Everything here is in Rules & settings › Sharing, except switching, which is in the header.
Switching accounts¶
When you belong to more than one account, the header shows a dropdown next to your name. Pick an account to work in it. Each browser remembers the last account it showed.
Your default account¶
Signing in opens your default account. In the Sharing panel, Make this my default sets the current one. Your first account (the personal one created with your login) starts as the default; someone who signed up with a join code has the account they joined as their only account.
Renaming¶
Change the name under Account name and click Rename. Every member sees the new name.
Inviting by username¶
Type an existing username under Invite by username and click Invite. The invitee sees N invitations in their header on their next sign-in and accepts or declines in the Sharing panel. Inviting again renews a pending invitation; invitations expire after a week.
Join codes¶
Make a join code creates a code that is shown once, works one time and expires after a week. Give it to anyone:
- someone with a login pastes it under Join with a code;
- someone without a login uses it on the sign-in dialog (Have a join code? Create a login) and lands in your account as their only one.
Members¶
All members are equal: everyone can edit everything and manage members. Next to each member is Remove (or Leave next to yourself); click twice to confirm. Someone removed from their default account falls back to another account they belong to.
The last member can't leave: the account and its data would be orphaned. Instead, the sole member sees Delete this account and its data, which does what it says (export first if you want to keep anything).
Starting another account¶
Start another account at the bottom of the panel creates an empty account with you as its member. Useful for keeping, say, a relative's children separate from your own.
Signing out¶
Sign out in the header ends the session on this device. Sessions otherwise last 30 days of use.
