Manage logins

Logins are managed from the command line on the machine (or container) running the server. There is no self-service registration; a newcomer either gets a login from you or signs up with a join code from an existing member (see the user guide).

Prefix each command with docker compose exec sufs-tracker when running in Docker, or uv run in a checkout.

Create a login

sufs-tracker user create NAME

Prompts for the password twice. Usernames are 1–64 characters (letters, digits, . _ @ -) and case-insensitive; passwords are at least 8 characters. The new user also gets a personal account named after them, set as their default.

Reset a password

sufs-tracker user reset NAME

Sets the new password and signs that user out everywhere.

In scripts

Add --password-stdin to read the password from one line of standard input instead of prompting:

printf '%s\n' "$PASSWORD" | sufs-tracker user create NAME --password-stdin

Removing a user

Not supported from the command line yet. Members can remove them from accounts in the page's Sharing panel; a login with no accounts can't see any data. Resetting their password also signs them out everywhere.
